嵐、09年シングル初動売上で1位～4位を独占
5人組グループ・嵐の新曲「マイガール」が11/23付シングルランキングの首位に初登場。発売1週目で43.2万枚を売上げ、自身の「明日の記憶／Crazy Moon～キミ・ハ・ムテキ～」（初動売上502,487枚・今年5月発売）、「Believe／曇りのち、快晴」（初動売上501,988枚・今年3月発売）に続く、09年シングル3番目の初動売上を記録した。これにより、34.2万枚の初動売上で4位のシングル「Everything」（今年7月発売）と合わせ、09年現時点でのシングル初動売上記録のTOP4作を嵐の作品が独占した。
また、嵐によるシングル首位獲得は、2004年2月発売の「PIKA★★NCHI DOUBLE」以来17作連続、通算で24作目。嵐は、10月28日に発売されたDVD『5×10 All the BEST! CLIPS 1999-2009』でも、発売2週目で50.0万枚を越えるセールスを記録し、人気に勢いのあるところを見せたばかり。年末にかけて今後の記録更新など、セールス動向が注目される。
本作には、10月9日にスタートしたメンバーの相葉雅紀が初主演するドラマ『マイガール』（テレビ朝日系）の主題歌のほか、カップリング曲には、同23日スタートのドラマ『0号室の客』（フジテレビ系）の主題歌「時計じかけのアンブレラ」が収録されている。
